All the roles were very stereotypical and had none of the magic of the original. Paul Le Mat was the lead, and I literally did not know anyone else in the cast. The third and absolute worst, ironically aired on The Ray Bradbury Theater, in 1992. Griffin Dunn and Laraine Newman were in it. The whole story was updated, and not in a good way.

The second aired in 1986 on the new Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Jane Darwell(Ma Joad!) was Granny Carnation. Collin Wilcox Paxton was appropriately slutty as Thedy. The cast was phenomenal: Pat Buttram, in a serious role, was awesome, as was George Lindsay, in a very un-Goober-like role.
